One VPN for the whole family: connecting phones, computers and the TV
There is no need to buy a separate VPN for every family member: one subscription can work on several phones, computers and the TV at once. Here is how to set everything up without confusion.
How many devices you need
Count the devices where the VPN will be turned on: phones, tablets, laptops, the TV. In Yak VPN the number of devices depends on the plan: Young Yak — up to 3, Great Yak — up to 5, Big Yak — up to 10 plus 2 separate links for your family, 3 devices each.
How to connect each device
- Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux — install the Happ app and tap “Add to Happ” in your account.
- A TV with Android TV or Google TV — Happ as well: the @yakvpnbot bot sends the subscription to the TV by the code on its screen.
- No need to share the account password: pass on the subscription link from your account — it is added to Happ without signing in.
- Our own Yak VPN apps for Android, Windows and Linux are in beta for now — you can download them on the download page.
How to manage devices
All connected devices are listed in your account and in the bot, under My devices. If a phone is lost or a device is no longer needed, tap Unlink — the place frees up for a new one. You can add devices to a paid subscription without waiting for renewal: you pay only for the days left.
Good to know
- The subscription and payment are shared: one person renews — it works for everyone.
- A VPN protects the connection but does not replace parental controls: for time and content limits use the built-in features of the phone or TV.
- Traffic is unlimited, so video on the TV and updates on the computer don't eat into anyone's limit.
